16 Inner Values for a Happy Life (16 Guidelines) gives practical tools for making everyday life better. By noticing our patterns of thinking, speaking and acting, and understanding how our minds work through mindfulness and self-enquiry, we can find lasting fulfilment. Equipped with better knowledge of ourselves we can break through our limiting beliefs, transform our relationships, make better decisions, and find peace of mind even on the most difficult of days
The Guidelines are underpinned by four philosophical themes:
How we think – the way we use our mind determines the way we live
How we act – every skilful action makes a better world
How we relate – to take care of others is to take care of ourselves
How we find meaning – if everything is changing, anything is possible
The more deeply we explore these themes, the more profound our experience of the Guidelines will become. Many people are finding that they offer the key to developing resilience in the face of the challenges and stress of modern life.
Since FDCW launched the 16 Guidelines for Life in Sydney in 2006, 16G have been adopted by thousands of people in over 25 countries. Its applications are limitless; it has catalysed a wide range of activities in education, youth work, health and social care, prisons, business leadership, family support and community activism.
The Foundation for Developing Compassion and Wisdom (FDCW) is an international non-profit organisation, established in 2005 and based in London.
